Vinci, Covent Garden Market

Project overview: Feeding the capital and beyond

VINCI’s state-of-the-art market facilities in Covent Garden are designed to store produce that will end up in some of the most renowned restaurants and hotels across London.
We came on board to transform a phenomenal 7000㎡ of floor area (that’s about the size of a stadium football pitch) and 254㎡ of staircase area (that’s enough area to fill a tennis court) into a beautifully finished floor.

The challenge: Installing between deliveries

VINCI came to us for help fitting durable flooring – split into bays for different businesses – in record time.
This project was time-restricted, as they needed to swiftly start moving the businesses into the new units without impacting upon their deliveries.
This required meticulous planning and time-management

How we added value: Meticulous scheduling

Perfect preparation was vital. We shot blasted the whole area, before installing Altro Crete slip-resistant Polyurethane to the floor areas and Altro screed on each step.
This product is perfect for intensive, extremely demanding environments. It is heavy-duty, durable and incredibly long-lasting. It also offers excellent impact and abrasion resistance. Just what was needed in this heavy use site.
Luckily, we are very experienced in working on complex sites and to tight deadlines.
We seamlessly coordinated with VINCI’s construction programme. This meant that the businesses could start moving into completed bays as we strategically installed floors to a meticulous schedule.
Sales Manager, Kurt Singleton, took a hands-on approach to keep everything running smoothly.
