Milestone Industrial Flooring recognise its duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and all other relevant legislation. We are committed to ensuring that all reasonable precautions are taken to provide and maintain safe, healthy, and compliant working conditions across all businesses within the Group. This commitment extends to employees, labour-only subcontractors, contractors, visitors, and others who may be affected by our operations.
We recognise that high standards of health and safety are integral to business performance. While complying with statutory requirements as a minimum, we will take all reasonably practicable measures to drive continual improvement in our health and safety standards. To achieve this, we will:
- Conduct our operations in line with best practice and current legislation.
- Meet our responsibilities as an employer to prevent accidents, injuries, and ill health.
- Allocate adequate resources, including finance, equipment, personnel, and time, to support health and safety.
- Provide and maintain safe working environments, so far as is reasonably practicable, without risks to health and welfare.
- Engage, consult, and communicate with employees, ensuring they have the necessary information, instruction, training, and supervision to work safely and competently.
- Identify, assess, and record all significant risks through structured risk assessments.
- Provide and maintain safe plant, equipment, and systems of work, subject to routine and statutory inspections.
- Ensure all hazardous substances are fully assessed under COSHH and that the findings are communicated to the workforce.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to learn lessons and prevent recurrence.
Responsibilities
- The Group Chief Executive Officer holds ultimate responsibility for health, safety, and welfare across all businesses.
- Directors, Managers, and Supervisors are responsible for implementing this policy within their areas of control and leading by example.
- All employees are expected to:
- Take reasonable care of their own health, safety, and welfare, and that of others who may be affected by their actions.
- Report hazards, unsafe practices, or situations that may present risks.
- Refrain from misusing or interfering with anything provided in the interests of health, safety, and welfare.
Policy Review
This Health and Safety Policy will be communicated to all employees, made available to customers and other interested parties, and reviewed annually—or sooner if there are significant changes in operations, structure, or legislation.
