Manheim Leeds - Auction House

Super-sleek, with a natural flow

The project overview:

Manheim is a leading UK provider of car auctions and vehicle remarketing services.
A long-standing client of ours, they needed high functioning flooring that would stand up to heavy foot and vehicle traffic in their showroom and head office.
They also wanted a modern, aesthetic design to show off the cars and create a warmer feeling around the building and auction hall.
Alongside this, it also needed to visually guide vehicles down ramps to the auction lanes.
That’s a lot of work from one floor!

The challenge: Installing between auctions

Manheim Leeds holds 2 vehicle auctions over two lanes per week. So, they had limited time available for us to complete the installation.
We recommended the methyl-methacrylate (MMA) resin system, with its fast-curing quality, to synchronise the install within their agreed shutdown periods.
We completed the precision preparation and installation within 4 shifts to get the auction centre operational as soon as possible.

How we added value: Both luxurious and durable

Using the MMA resin system, we created a luxurious road effect for cars to glide along.
Careful use of colour and lines were chosen to guide vehicles smoothly along the auction lanes, differentiate zones and enhance the atmosphere.
As this system offers incredible strength and chemical-resistance, the surface will be durable, with added quartz to safeguard against slips and keep staff and clients safe.
It really did tick all of Manheim’s boxes, with a finished effect that’s super sleek with a natural flow.

What the client said:

“As part of Manheim’s continual improvement scheme at Leeds, Manheim challenged
Milestone to supply and install a new anti-slip floor to the auction area which would
provide an enhanced customer experience. It was critical that there were no disruptions
to the auction sales programme, and with the professional coordination between Cox
Automotive Facilities and Milestone, the project objectives were completed to an
excellent high standard”.
